Hello and welcome! This is Linda Anderson, Mindset Magician here at Tap Into Your Success, with a tap-along video to help you let go of some of the feelings of overwhelm, over busy-ness and stress that we can so easily fall into as business owners. You know, with that to do list of a million different things that need to get done, and where self care often seems to fall completely off the bottom of the list?

Tap along with me to ground your energy and get out of overwhelm so you can get things done with more ease and flow – and have a whole lot more fun in the process!

Now to tap the feelings away, we need to get you into them first so, in your own time, take a nice slow deep breath and close your eyes, and just bring to mind your to do list, looking at everything that you need to get done today.

And not just today. All those other things that you know you must do, you should do, but that always seem to slip down the list and are constantly nagging at the edge of your awareness, because you haven’t done them yet, and you know you should’ve done them by now, but you’ve been avoiding them for whatever reason.

And then look at all those things that have been on your list for ages and ages, and you know for a fact will never get done, but somehow it feels really important to have them on the list.

Now just notice that when you’re looking at the list, there’s a part of you that believes it’s really bad to have anything left on the list at the end of the day, so when you look at it, everything seems to have equal importance, and like they all need to be done right now.

No wonder we get to feeling stressed and overwhelmed!

So just let yourself sense the weight of All The Things. All the things you’ve been trying to carry around in your conscious mind (which is not what your conscious mind is designed to do by the way 😉 ), and feel what you feel in your body. Notice what the Little Voices in your head are saying, as they contemplate that list. And notice what you’re feeling.

Then rate the intensity of those feelings on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being really intense, I feel really overwhelmed here.

(If you’re not familiar with Tapping, here’s a quick video demonstration of the points)

And then tap along with me, paying attention to what you feel as we go round. So we start on the karate chop point, and say:

Even though I feel overwhelmed when I look at my to do list, I choose to love and accept myself.

Even though I feel overwhelmed and stressed when I think about All The Things, I choose to love and honour myself.

And even though I feel overwhelmed, like a deer in the headlights, when I think about all that has to be done, I choose to love and forgive myself, and anyone else in my life who’s contributing to these feelings.

Then tap around the points from the eyebrow point onwards:

I feel so overwhelmed when I think of that list
I’ll never get through it all
There’s way too much to do
And it all seems equally important
So how do I choose what to do first?
How will I ever get everything done?
How will I get it all crossed off the list?
No wonder I’m feeling overwhelmed and stressed

Stop tapping and take a nice deep breath. Have a sip of water if you’ve got some by you, and check in again with how you’re feeling now on a scale of 1-10.

The number might be the same, it might have gone up, it might have gone down. There’s no right or wrong with this, it’s just a guide for you of where you are in the releasing process, and that depends very much what’s going on for you.

But in any case you can scroll back through the video, repeat that round again until you get the intensity down to a level 5 or below. And then we can go on to a more positive round.

On the karate chop point again:

Even though I still feel overwhelmed when I look at that list, I choose to love and accept myself.

Even though I still feel stressed and out of control, I choose to love and forgive myself, and anyone else in my life who contributes to these feelings

Even though I still feel a little overwhelmed when I look at my list, I choose to love and accept myself anyway. And I’m open to the possibility that having a constant to do list is simply part of being a busy business owner, a successful business owner. So I’d love to find another way to look at this.

Then tap around the points from the eyebrow point onwards:

I wonder if it’s possible that I could give myself permission
To slow right down and just do one thing at a time?
I wonder what that would feel like?
I kind of like the idea
But a part of me believes if I don’t get everything done
Something really bad is going to happen
And aren’t we supposed to be multitasking anyway?

All of this stress and overwhelm
I’d love to be free of it now
Giving myself permission to breathe
Trusting myself enough to chose one thing to focus on
Remembering that crossing even one thing off my to do list
Feels really great
So I’m open to feeling more relaxed
And more focussed about this now

Okay so take a nice deep breath and check in again, how are you feeling now?

If you’re still feeling really overwhelmed and stressed keep tapping, giving a voice to exactly what you’re feeling until you start to feel calmer, and your mind comes into a more resourceful space.

And then give yourself permission to focus on just one thing, and do just one thing at a time.

You’ll be so much more effective when you do that and it will take a whole lot less energy too.

There’s never enough time!
